2010 Begins With a Bang!

Friday, January 29th, 2010

All is well and thriving in Monk land.  We have so much to tell you!

First, The Loneliest Monk will battle it out between 5 bands for a spot at this year’s SXSW Festival @ Reggie’s Rock Club on February 12, 2010.  A panel of judges will vote for the top band based on crowd reaction, stage presence, music ability, and overall awesomeness. The winner will perform the Reggie’s Showcase @ the Jackalope stage in Austin, Texas on March 19, 2010. We need your presence and Monk support.  This is an amazing opportunity!  Help us go to the land that is South By Southwest.

Over capactity!

Tuesday, April 7th, 2009

Thank you so much to everyone who came out to the Whistler last night (and thanks to Asa Ransom for a wicked performance)! The place was over capacity and there was a line out the door the entire night. We absolutely love playing for you all.

To those who couldn’t get in (and we know some of you waited in line for a long time), we shall prepare a special treat for you at the next show.

Stay tuned and thanks again!

Love,

The Loneliest Monk

The good old homemade way

Wednesday, October 29th, 2008

Along with our regular poster design for the Nov 6th show at the Whistler, we decided to get out the old arts and crafts supplies and make a few extra posters. We made six posters (as you can see in the fancy animated gif to the right). They are named: “Cloudy Eyes”, “Binary Roots”, “Election Day”, “Chocolate Van”, “Packman in Love”, and “Bear Sad”. We will be giving them away at the show, along with buttons and candy. See you on November 6th!

P.S. Buttons win!

Early Warning – New Chicago Show Added

Wednesday, October 8th, 2008

We are very happy to announce a new Chicago show at a new Chicago venue/bar/gallery. Please join us in Logan Square at the Whistler on November 6th. There is no cover, and The Loneliest Monk will be the only live performance mixed in between a groovy DJ.
Tell your friends!

The Loneliest Monk
