Happy Tour Kick Off Day!

Come join us tonight for our first ever tour kick off party. There will be live music by yours truly as well as our friend’s Baron Von Something and Thomas from Raise High The Roof Beam’s new project, Heartichoke.

The evening will be full of cupcakes, candy, smiles, and plenty of booze. Also, the DEBUT ALBUM JUST ARRIVED and will be available for the first time tomorrow night! If you’ve already purchased the CD, swing on by to grab your copy. If you can’t make it no worries – they’ll be shipping out on Tuesday. In addition to the swanky new albums, we’ll have limited edition hair accessories and earrings inspired by Monk fashion made by the super talented, Siobhan McNulty.

Come share this evening with us at EP Theater and wish us well as we bring The Loneliest Monk to the masses on our 5500 mile tour. Entry is solely donation based, so if you can drop a buck in the box on your way in that would sure be swell. Every bit counts and all proceeds go to keeping us on the road.

We look forward to seeing you!

xoxo

Coach House Sounds

Monday, November 10th, 2008

Set out on the longest mission of our recent Sundays. The cello was curving around the back, suitcase in one hand, the old bag that was purchased from an Arizona thrift store attached to the other hand. Then there was the nord in a red case that screams beauty and safety in his hand and a bag of shiny cymbals. Told you we were on a mission. Set out on the 18th bus out of Pilsen to Chinatown passing egg rolls and crab rangoon that we know all too well. Up the steep escalator and turning to see the Howard red line feets began scurring. A man was trying to get a free ride and holding up the line to swipe our Chicago cards. He threw the nord over the gates and balanced it between my index finger and pinky. In our own world, thoughts racing.. don’t get nervous….I won’t.

Neat tape reels a-turning. Matt and his fellow buddies recording live sounds on a cold Sunday evening after a round of tasty pizza. Polaroids to highlight the event and christmas lights lighting our sound.

Back to the equipment in our hands and backs. Back on the trains transfering trains passing us along.

Missing the 18th bus and left to smell the crab rangoons and egg rolls all the way home.

Our Sunday trip to and fro, The Coach House Sounds.
